On July 15 2016 FAS lost its founder Baz Dare after a long but typically courageous and good humoured fight with cancer, among a host of other ailments. Baz had his big send-off a few weeks later on Sunday, July 31, at a packed Blockley Church, after which there was an incredibly well-attended reception at Mill Dene. Baz's life was built on four great pillars: business; politics and public service; family; and cricket. It was hence particularly pleasing to see that Baz's cricketing family was properly represented at both events, with plenty of FAS blazers, ties (of both "country" and "city" variety) and even waistcoats on display.
